Jaro Egbo Received The New NDLEA Area Commander, Ughelli North Zone On A Courtesy Visit.

The Executive Chairman of Ughelli North Local Government Council, Olorogun (Barr) Jaro Movudu Egbo Ksc, received the newly posted Area Commander of The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Ughelli North Zone, ECN Paul Oche Ogbodji and his team to his office for a courtesy visit.
In his brief remark, the New Area Commander, ECN Paul O. Ogbodji said that his visit is aimed primarily to intimate the Chairman and his team of his resumption as the Area Commander of Ughelli North LGA, adding that his posting came up on the 25th of August 2025.
Mr Ogbodji, assured the Council Chairman of his preparedness to hit the ground running immediately, and also seeks the council's support towards achieving the group's goals and objectives. He commended the Council Boss for providing a befitting apartment for the NDLEA officials and other security agencies in the local government, adding that the chairman has displayed an uncommon leadership prowess and has showcased his commitment in ensuring a peaceful and conducive environment for his people.
Responding, Olorogun Jaro Egbo, thanked the group for the visit, welcomed the new Area Commander to Ughelli North Local Government Area, and urged him to maintain the momentum that has been established by the outgoing NDLEA Commander and the Police Ughelli Area Commander, ACP Aliyu Shaba in the fight against sales of hard drugs in Ughelli North LGA.
The Council Boss reiterated his commitment to combating the illicit sale of hard drugs in Ughelli North LGA, highlighting the need for collaborative efforts by all security operatives and relevant stakeholders in order to curb the menace of drugs abuse that is ravaging our communities.
.. Let this be Known to all, No matter how connected you are in the society, once it is confirmed that you are a drug dealer, we will come after you " the Chairman avowed.
Barr Jaro Egbo, promised to give his full support to the team, as he also disclosed the Council's plans of setting up a Joint Taskforce committee on illicit drugs and Child trafficking, which will comprise representatives from each Kingdoms of the local government area alongside the Police, NDLEA, NSCDC among others to help in the fight against illegal sales and use of hard drugs and child prostitution in Ughelli North LGA.
He advised the NDLEA Commander and his team to always intimate the Council of their activities, and to also uphold the confidence reposed on them by people, by not compromising in the discharge of their duties, stressing that, if those caught are not prosecuted, the public will lose confidence in their operations.
