Egbo to Drug Dealers: Your Days Are Numbered Ughelli North Launches War on Crime and Community Neglect.

In a fiery address that sent a clear warning to criminals and complacent leaders, Ughelli North Chairman, Olorogun (Barr.) Jaro Movudu Egbo, Ksc, has declared a total war on illicit drug sales, child prostitution, and the abandonment of public healthcare centres. He vowed to hunt down offenders and shut any community facility not properly maintained by December 2025.

Ughelli North is on the move against crime.
The Executive Chairman, Olorogun (Barr.) Jaro Movudu Egbo, Ksc, met with representatives from all seven kingdoms in the council area of Ughelli, Agbarha-Otor, Ogor, Agbarho, Orogun, Evwreni, and Uwheru in a high-powered security summit aimed at ending the spread of hard drugs, tackling child trafficking, and restoring public health services.

Egbo warned that illicit drug use is fueling robbery, kidnapping, rape, and even death.

 “The result of drug abuse is robbery, kidnapping, rape, madness, even death. We will not allow this to destroy our wards and relatives,” he said.

A Special Taskforce on Illicit Drugs and Human Trafficking will now be formed, with representatives from every kingdom and all major security agencies - NDLEA, Police, DSS, Civil Defence, Immigration, and more. Community leaders were ordered to engage known drug dealers and complicit hoteliers immediately, warning them to quit or face arrest.

Egbo also expressed outrage over the neglect of the council’s healthcare centres, the highest number in the state, accusing some communities of abandoning them or converting them for private use. He issued a firm ultimatum: collaborate with the government to maintain these centres or see them shut down by December 2025.

The chairman closed with a promise to safeguard every resident:

 “If Ughelli North is not peaceful, I will not be at rest.”

The meeting drew leaders, secretaries, women and youth representatives, as well as top council officials and security operatives.
